CPC is a full-service pathology laboratory, providing services to dermatology offices, surgery centers, hospitals, other laboratories, and more. See our subspecialties page for more details on our services.
- Our grossing is performed by ASCP certified Pathologists’ Assistants who produce the right size of parallel sections so that the tissue is processed under the ideal settings
- Our Histo Techs are skilled in the art of embedding tissue and cutting blocks so that the slides have minimal folds and chunks, and adequate representation of your biopsy is captured for our pathologists to make an accurate diagnosis
- Our pathologists are present in the laboratory every day, providing feedback and oversight over our entire operation
- Reports delivered to your EHR, email, or fax the following business day for >90% of cases
Slide Preparation Services
CPC offers slide preparation services to practices that read their own slides. We will prepare H&E slides and perform any requested stains.
- We will pick up your specimens in the Chicagoland area, or send your biopsies to us via your mail carrier of choice
- Slides will be available the following day and can be viewed digitally. Slides will be returned the following day if digital services are not used, or batch returned if digital services are used
- Referral services are available for difficult cases
Professional/Consultation Services
CPC offers professional services for practices who operate their own laboratories.
- Send slides prepared at your laboratory to us and we will read them for you (88305.26)
- Reports delivered to your EHR, email, or fax the following business day for >90% of cases
For practitioners who read their own slides, CPC offers consultation services for difficult cases.
- Based on your needs, we perform primary (88305.26) or secondary consultations (88321)
- Turnaround time is the following business day for >90% of cases. Difficult cases may take longer.

Slide Staining Services
CPC has an extensive IHC stain menu for dermatology.
- Formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) blocks are accepted for IHC and special stains
