Pathology is defined by Merriam-Webster as: the study of the essential nature of diseases and especially of the structural and functional changes produced by them. A pathologist is a physician (Medical Doctor or equivalent degree) who specializes in how disease affects people on a microscopic, cellular, and molecular level. Historically considered a “Doctor’s doctor”, pathology continues to play a critical role in the multidisciplinary approach of modern day medicine. When any tissue or body fluid is removed at a physician’s office, or in a hospital, this sample is given to a pathologist to examine, with the findings (diagnosis) issued in a pathology report.

At CPC Pathology we use primarily histochemical, but also various immunophenotypic, and molecular techniques to fully analyse a patient specimen. These results are interpreted by our experienced board certified pathologists. We also work closely with your treating physician by providing consultation regarding laboratory test results, effective treatment plans and relevant disease management. The findings (diagnosis and relevant therapeutic implications) are issued in a concise, easy to read report for you and your treating physician. If you have any further questions, or are interested in learning more about our services, then please give us a call! At CPC Pathology our dedicated team of pathologists, technologists, and friendly office staff are always happy to assist with you with all your pathology and laboratory needs.
